Ersatz (“we”, “us”) is the controller of the personal information described here. We are Ersatz LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, registered at 8 The Green #25638, Dover, DE 19901, USA.

This policy covers this website. It does not cover sites we link to, which have policies of their own.

What we collect

If you send us an enquiry, we collect what you put in the form: your name, your email address, your company where you give one, and whatever you tell us about your project.

We do not run advertising or analytics on this site, and we do not build a profile of you. Our web host records standard server logs — including IP addresses — as part of serving and securing the site.

Why we use it

We use enquiry details to reply to you and to discuss the work you have asked about. Our basis for this is our legitimate interest in responding to people who approach us, and, where it leads to a project, taking steps to enter into a contract.

We use server logs to keep the site available and to investigate abuse.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own for advertising or measurement. Fonts are served from our own domain, and there are no third-party trackers or embeds on the page.

Who sees it

Enquiries reach the people at Ersatz who need to answer them. We use service providers for email and web hosting, who process the information on our instructions and for no purpose of their own.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become projects are kept for 24 months and then deleted. Where an enquiry becomes a project, the correspondence is kept for as long as we work together and for as long afterwards as our tax and legal obligations require.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict what we do with it, or object to our using it. Where the law gives you the right, you can also ask for it in a portable form.

Write to us and we will answer within one month. If you think we have handled your information badly, tell us first and we will try to put it right. If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, you may also complain to the data protection authority for the country you live or work in.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS and access to enquiries is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect what you send us.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top of it. Material changes will be brought to your attention where we are able to reach you.
